About Kingshuk
Biography
When I was young, science was the gateway to endless possibilities. I remember being captivated by the way things worked — from the small chemistry kit experiments at home to the wonders of nature that seemed filled with hidden secrets. My curiosity led me to study chemistry in college, and as I delved deeper, the complexity and potential of materials science and electrochemistry became my calling.
Fast forward to today, and that sense of discovery is stronger than ever. I’m now an assistant professor, leading a research group dedicated to pushing the boundaries of energy storage. In one hand, I have an array of advanced electrochemical tools, from cyclic voltammetry to electrochemical microscopy, and in the other, I hold a set of novel materials and interfaces to probe and optimize. My lab is a blend of rigorous experimentation and creative problem-solving, where each day brings new challenges and insights into the intricacies of battery technology.
I view my work as an exploration of the frontier where materials science meets electrochemistry. This is a realm where even small discoveries can have significant impacts on how we power our world. Through the mentorship of students, the refinement of new techniques, and the search for sustainable solutions, I aim to contribute to a field that is essential to the future of energy. This journey isn’t just about science — it’s about creating something meaningful, with curiosity and collaboration at its heart.
